Water and Filtering

While Hiking or exercising, a good Nalgene bottle is the best way to go:

Nalgene BPA Free Tritan Wide Mouth Water Bottle, 32 Oz, Gray with Black Lid

Charcoal colored bottle

Or, if you want more, you can get a water bladder:

Bladders: Camelback (100 oz), Tomtop, Bicycle Mouth 2 Liter, Platypus (3L)

Now, while hiking, you might encounter streams, brooks, or other natural sources of water, but they might not be safe to drink, due to microscopic bacteria or other little particles that could be harmful to you, causing dysentery or worse.  What you would do in such a situation is use water purification tablets, activated charcoal, or a water filter pump to clean the water so it’s safe to drink.  Here are a few possibilities:

Water tablets: Portable Aqua, Potassium Iodide tablets, Katadyn tablets

Water filters: Lifestraw, Katadyn portable filter, Berkey water filter Kit, portable filters, OKEBA filter

Give these filters a try and let me know how your hike goes!
